2024 Georgia WSO State Championship Canceled

Dear Georgia Weightlifting Athletes and Community,

It is with deep regret that the 2024 Georgia WSO State Championships, originally scheduled for May 11th, must be cancelled. We understand this news is disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This difficult decision was not made lightly. After careful consideration of all factors, the Georgia WSO Board determined that canceling the event was necessary due to lack of participation.

We know how much time and effort goes into preparing for a competition, and we appreciate your dedication to the sport. We are truly sorry for any disruption this cancellation may cause to your training schedule. If you are still needing to qualify for Nationals and planned on using the State Championship as that meet, we encourage you to sign up for Barbell Maynia which will be held at Peak Strength in Buford, Ga. May 4th. There are limited spots so don't wait until the last minute to sign up.

We want to assure you that the Georgia WSO Board remains firmly committed to promoting weightlifting in our state. We have already begun planning for the 2025 Georgia WSO Weightlifting State Championships. Our goal is to make it the premier weightlifting event in the Southeast, offering an exceptional experience for all athletes and attendees.

We will be sharing more details about the 2025 State Championships in the coming months. In the meantime, please stay tuned for updates on our website at https://georgiaweightlifting.com/ and our various social media pages.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Georgia Weightlifting. We look forward to seeing you at future events.

Sincerely,

The Georgia WSO Board
